Within days of the release of The Vow, the book was already climbing its way to the top of the New York Times best seller list. Within a week, it reached number one on the non-fiction best seller list. The book records the real life account of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, whose faithful and inspiring story is quite different from the movie version. If you enjoyed the movie, you may want to learn the real events that inspired it, but be aware that it is very different as far as characterization, setting, and the underlining reason that the couple stayed together. Regardless of whether you loved the movie, or thought it could have been better, the book is a worthy read. Personally, I read the book before I saw the movie and I thought the way Kim wrote of his love for Krickitt was far more romantic than Channing Tatum’s representation in the film. Do yourself a favor and give the book a read!
