The Vow seriously killed it at the box office debut on Friday, bringing in a whopping $15.4 million, which is expected to reach $41 million by the end of the weekend. It came in first place, winning against competing opening films such as the Denzel Washington thriller, Safe House (which opened at $13.8 mil) , Star Wars ($8.7 mil), Journey (6.6 mil), and Chronicle ($3.5 mil).
The Vow is the most profitable film that Sony Screen Gems has EVER released to date! Yes, it has even done better than Dear John (which made 13.8 million on its opening day).
The book is sure to be a best-seller too!

I thought it was a beautiful story line and Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams made a cute couple, but it focused so much on Leo being rejected by his wife that it was depressing to watch. The only happy parts were the beginning and the end, sort of. I would have liked to have seen more of what their life was like after Paige returned to Chicago on her own.
