The Vow’s Indie Soundtrack – Songs by Matt Pond PA, The Cure, Maya von Doll

The Vow movie soundtrack’s complete track list has been released!  It is a fantastic collection of indie songs that musicians and movie goers can both appreciate.

Surprisingly enough, the only trailer song that appears in the official soundtrack is the great Meat Loaf classic, “I Would Do Anything for Love”, which is the very first track on the album.    The songs that follow are dramatically different from the first.

Highlights include:   “Specks” by Matt Pond PA ( track two) , a fun, upbeat little ditty with a funky folk-pop groove, reminiscent of happy scenes from the movie.  Undoubtedly, it is one my favorite songs on here.    The third number on the list, “England” by The National.  It’s a slower, sadder song and will make you think of the lonely, hopeless moments in the film and even in real life.   There is something pretty and almost soothing about it.   “Play My Way” by Maya von Doll has an electronic  infused melody that will make you wanna get up and dance.    “Nothing Was Stolen / Love Me Foolishly”  by Phosphorescent is lucky number 7 on the soundtrack list and one of the ones I really, really enjoy!  It is chill, easy-listening.  “Come on, Come on” (track 8 ) is a gorgeous, poetic, romantic folk-pop song in my top favorites along with “Specks”.  It’s written by Scott Hardkiss but features beautiful vocals by Britta Phillips.   I adore this track.   Lastly, the soundtrack closes with “Pictures of You” by The Cure.  That song represents the entire theme of The Vow as it is all about memories.
